About

I can relate to the “complex dog” club – because my own special-case rescue is exactly that. It is easy to feel alone when your dog’s behaviour isn’t necessarily what you expected, or you don’t know what to do. I want you to know that you are not alone, and by visiting my website, you have taken the first step on a new journey, as a team with your dog.

My name is Sally, I am an Accredited Canine & Animal Behaviourist, Trainer, and a Certified Family Dog Mediator.

I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Canine Behaviour, as well as further qualifications in Canine Communication, Canine Anxiety, Canine Fear, Training, L.E.G.S® Applied Ethology, Canine Anatomy and Physiology, and Canine Health and Nutrition. I use a holistic approach (where we consider ‘the whole dog’ and all factors in their life) because every dog is an individual, and therefore they all deserve an individual approach.

I am a published author on the topic of dog behaviour, and you can find my books “Empowering Your Dog Through Choice” and “Dogs Can Talk!” worldwide on Amazon.

I am a member of the Association of INTODogs, and am covered by the UK Dog Behaviour and Training Charter – meaning that I have been assessed by, and am supported by a reputable organisation. I am also a member of the International Companion Animal Network. As part of my membership with INTODogs, my knowledge and skills are assessed every year (as well as when joining initially) to make sure I stay up to date with the latest information and studies relating to dog behaviour, training, and holism.

I offer a caring, choice-based, positive approach based on understanding and empathy.

I aim to support you to coach your dog emotionally, rather than punish and suppress unwanted behaviours. By working in the way that I do, we treat the cause, not just the symptom. I also help you understand why your dog is behaving in a certain way, what that behaviour is communicating, and what needs may be behind this.

I specialise in reactivity and aggression (towards dogs or people) and also have a specialist interest in gait patterns, movement, and posture.

Collaborative working – “the team around the dog”

I wholeheartedly believe in collaboration, not competition. In my experience, working with a close-knit group of knowledgeable professionals results in better outcomes for dogs. This is why I believe in the “team around the dog” approach. Often the team around the dog consists of a behaviourist, a vet, a walker, a groomer, and other professionals. I am always in support of multidisciplinary working and keen to involve those who are part of a dog’s “team” in my practice.
